Why do I have to face these?

“Allah.. why do I have to learn it the hard way? Why do you test me with this kind of experience again?”

Sometimes, I just hope that I could learn everything with just one advice. But no, there are things Allah taught me through different ways which I might don’t like.

I have to experience a few car accidents before I learn the meaning of “careful in driving”.
I have to experience a few lost of important cards before I learn the meaning of “careful” in where you put your things.
I have to experience many stressful situations before I learn that I could feel it different if I change the way I responded.

And He surely will test you. Just like before going to the next level/grade, you have to pass the exam first. If you fail, you have to learn again and go through the exam again but this time, are more prepared than before.

When something is meant to happen, it will surely happen no matter what precautions we take or preparations we make.

Then I learn slowly (and still learning) not to blame everything on myself or other people. Things happen for reasons we might never know. May Allah give us the ability to see the meaningful lessons behind it and replace what we’ve lost with something better.

As His slave with very limited knowledge and understanding, I have to accept His command by putting trust in Him. There may be things that I hate but are good for me. There may also be things that I love but are actually bad for me. Thus, believing Him may protect me in this worldly life and the hereafter.

“Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.”

Al-Baqarah, 2:216
